DUTIES OF THE COUNTY CLERK
The Clerk’s office processes vehicle titles and registrations, driver license renewals and duplicates, boat registrations, marriage license, business license, beer license, notary applications, TWRA hunting and fishing license, race track license, and pawnbroker license. We also collect sales tax on boat and motor vehicle transactions and collect the hotel-motel tax. The office also has two passport acceptance agents that process first-time applications. The office maintains and stores marriage records dating back to 1863. The County Clerk is also the clerk of the county legislative body and maintains the official County Commission Minutes. The marriage records and County Commission Minutes are available for public viewing.
